Certain conditions affect the performance of your range finder which includes light, atmospheric conditions, the reflective property of surfaces, size of the target, and vibrations or mobility.

Another major factor that matters a lot is the beam divergence; a smaller beam divergence offers a greater ranging precision so when looking for a laser range finder you must look at several factors of your device to determine its performance and abilities.

The GPS range finder uses a network of satellites to measure and locate the distance between the device and the target. The GPS rangefinder receives a signal from a series of satellites and then locates where the device is and deduces the distance to the target.

Most of the GPS range finders may require you to subscribe with a membership fee to access the maps on your device. One major advantage of a GPS range finder is that you do not have to aim for a target and you can select the point on your map and the satellite will do the rest for you.
