On the other hand, many models use LIDAR (for light detection and Ranging) technology that measures the distance to every item in the robot’s route. It allows the robot vacuum to gradually build a map of the house during its first cleaning. After then, it localizes itself within the map, which informs it where it’s present and where it needs to go. Moreover, it tells the robot vacuum to charge itself when its battery power gets low. So, this mapping feature provides you a quicker, even, and more thorough cleaning.
Suction Power:
The suction power is the most essential feature as it allows you to adjust the sucking capability from low to high for different floor types and situations like a spot or edge cleaning. Most high-end devices have auto-adjusting suction power that increases the vacuuming on carpet or heavily dense areas.
