However, the question is what if it is not handled properly? What are the effects of a mishandled nail gun or in that case any other tool. Well, every tool can have negative impacts if it is not handled correctly.
That is why it is recommended to always read the instructions of a machine before start working with it. A nail gun, however, might not be known as the most dangerous machine, it can still have consequences if mishandled. So, let’s take a look at all the safety measures of using a nail gun.
Keep your fingers out of line:
You might have heard this safety measure, probably the most out of all. It is also the most obvious one. When you are working with a nail gun, make sure your hand is not in the line of work. That means if you are driving a nail in a certain part of an object, keep your hand away from that particular part. If your hand or a finger is in the line, it can be severely injured.
If you talk about the traditional tools like a hammer, you also have to make sure this does not happen. In hammer, it is even more dangerous because you are supposed to hold the nail with one hand. So, the chances of hitting on your fingers are more. However, with a nail gun, the chances are low if you handle them properly.
Never Assume:
A nail gun can load up to 400 nails in its magazine. This is a very useful option as it takes less space of nails in a tool box as compared to traditional tools. On the other side, it can lead to injuries as well.
When you are done working, you might not remember the number of nails present in the gun. So, you might assume they are finished after a long day of work. However, if it is not empty and it accidently turns ON, which can cause several injuries. That is why it always recommended to make sure whether your nail gun is completely empty or not, instead of assuming about it.
Place it wisely:
When you are driving a nail into an object, always ensure your placement of the nail gun is right. If not, the machine could slide down or project back. Some materials also have ability to project the nail gun back. That is why it is always recommended that before you start nailing, you place it firmly against the object.
