For this process, you will need some trim removal tools such as a nylon or plastic prying tool and a socket or ratchet tool set depending on your car model. The nylon tools are soft and will protect against any scratches which can occur if a metal or any sturdy prying tool is used.

Start by removing the panel directly below the infotainment system as this place holds the screws from which the system is bolted tight. Using a flat or a Philips screwdriver, gently unscrew the bolts which will dislodge the system from its compartment.

Sometimes, due to different car and system types the bolts are tiny and placed in a direction that makes it difficult to reach, try and use an L-key bolt with a screwdriver attachment or it would be likely that the system manufacturer must have included a toolset to remove the bolts.

If either method does not work, contact your local car mechanic or manufacture. To remove your glove box compartment, you will need to find two latches on either side of the glove box. This also depends on car manufacturing as different manufacturers have different ways to remove the glovebox.

Some manufactures have opted for the trick to gently push the whole compartment sideways and slowly lift it out. While others have opted for an old-school method of simply just using a Philips or flat head screwdriver to unscrew the bolts and slide out the glove box compartment.

After the panel or glovebox has been removed, all wires connected to the car infotainment system will be revealed. Wires that will be connected will be 4 auxiliary wires for 4 speakers in each door and one wire for the Sub-woofer.

Also 2 more wires, one for the power wire supply harness and one for the back-view camera input. Also, some extra wires may be present for the Radio or Sirius XM receiver.
