How to install a subwoofer?

The unimpressive and weak sound from your car’s existing sound system may be bothering you as it does many of us. If so, it is time to upgrade and get subwoofers for your car! they play low-pitched sounds the sub-bass and the bass with a lot of power input. Sometimes people connect and amplifier just for their high-power subwoofers. Its very simple and easy if you follow proper guidelines.

The installation process of these subwoofers in any car is quite simple and you can easily manage to do so all by yourself.

Step:1. The Wires:

You need to invest in a wiring kit that has all the supplies needed for the installation of a subwoofer. They don’t come with wires so you need wires from 3ft to 20ft long. You also need speaker wires and a fuse holder for the 50-amp in-line fuse. Note that you will require Crimp ring terminals and a plastic crimp connector to connect wires.

Step:2. Picking the perfect spot!

Some subwoofers come with built-in amplifiers which means you don’t have to worry about placing them close to the amplifiers for better sound quality. As the sound system produces heat with use it needs properly ventilated space so it doesn’t get heated up. Many people pick the car’s trunk for it and that is right, the air flows and keeps the subwoofers cool throughout the journey.

Step:3. Disconnecting the Car’s battery:

Before starting on connecting the wires and after placing the subwoofers in their designated, well-ventilated spot, you need to disconnect the car’s battery the first thing! Shut the car off and get into the hood and you will see the metal nuts that are holding the red and black cables from the battery in their right places. Turn these nuts counterclockwise with a simple regular wrench. By doing so, you have disconnected all the electrical systems of your car which means that all the wires in your car are now safe to touch. Make sure the red cable is not in contact with bare metal at any time. Just to be safe, inspect the battery and if you see corrosion, put on safety goggles and rubber gloves.

Step:4. Routing wires and making the connection:

See and locate the positive and negative terminals and route the amplifier negative and positive wires safely and securely. You also need to hide these wires. Then you need to install a fuse close to the battery and then ground the amp into the car’s body at the selected place with all the bare metal connections. Then attach the remote lead and wire at the stereo of the car.

Step:5. Signal Sources:

Connect the RCA subwoofer jacks for an aftermarket stereo and a factory stereo, use a speaker adapter or a speaker level input amplifier to connect to the signal source.

Step:5. Adjust:

With the help of playing your most familiar music, you can set the crossover to low-pass until you hear some bass. And then turn the amp to adjust the bass level as required and preferred. Enjoy!
