How to Select a Perfect Microwave?

How to Select a Perfect Microwave? A microwave is one of the everyday household appliances. Nowadays, it is hard to imagine life without it and enjoys great popularity. If you want to buy a new microwave, you should think carefully about what functions you need and how many extras you want. Would you like a simpler model or a microwave oven with a grill or even hot air?

Microwaves save you time, heat smaller portions quickly, and defrost frozen foods. The price range is broad. However, expensive should not always mean better. The final selection depends upon your choices.

Do you want to heat up, or would you like other functions such as baking and grilling? If you are going to warm up food and defrost frozen food, less priced model is enough for this task because this function is the actual task of a microwave and is fulfilled by everyone.

With the help of microwave radiation, the water molecules inside the meal are made to vibrate and thus heated.

The size of a microwave generally determines its internal volume. Sizes between 13 and 42 liters are possible. The larger microwaves are about the size of an oven. However, with this order of magnitude, you negate the advantages in terms of space and energy savings.

A standard measure of around 25 liters is sufficient for most buyers. There is also room for a pizza or a cake pan without any problems. To be on the safe side, you should measure the dimensions of the turntable with the measurements of your dishes.

Most microwaves with an average capacity of 20 to 30 liters have a maximum wattage of 700 to 1,000 watts. Some models can do even more, but this does not bring further advantages. Food cooks faster, but it often becomes inedible if highly heated.

The outside gets dry, and too often, the inside is not finished. However, the larger the microwave, the more watts there should be. Finally, the more extensive interior should also be heated sufficiently. Manufacturers usually make sure that the size and wattage match. A tip is that a microwave power of up to 1,000 watts is generally sufficient.

You hardly have any options with cheap microwaves: Usually, only two rotary knobs are available—the first set the cooking time, the second the power. A more precise entry is hardly possible here. On the other hand, there are models with a digital display, several buttons or even a sensor key. Here you can determine very precisely how the microwave should work.

These models often have automatic programs that have already saved particular specifications for pizza, fish or meat. There are undoubtedly many different versions between the simplest models and the devices with many functions.

However, you may find precisely the device you are looking for among this extensive selection. Here, a tip is to write down what you need and what you do not. It does not necessarily have to be the model with all possible functions. Maybe a somewhat simpler model is enough, but you still have all the extras you need.
